Harley the day before.....

Riko, Iceman, Jay Bird, Opie and FidgetOnce again the Slider fans turned out and packed Fast Eddie's and it was a good time all the way up until they shut us down at 1:30am. We could see that everyone was having a good time and when you all have a good time it translates into us having a blast playing music for you all. We'd like to thank Ryan and Brian for coming up and singing some tunes with us and lets take our "Hat's Off" to Jake for getting up on stage with us again and tearing it up on the drums. Mr. Jake definitely has a future in music if he keeps at it because at 15 he ROCKS so we can only imagine what a few more years of experience under his belt will do.
As always, We ALL appreciate your support and hope to see everyone again soon!!!
Riko, Iceman, Jay Bird, Opie and FidgetHey there,
Hard Times Cafe was an absolute riot. Great place to play, Club Management was "Top Notch" and everyone that was there hanging out with us were fantastic. We can't wait to get back in. Right now the word on the street is that we will be back there in April but we do not know the date for sure.

THANK YOU to everyone that made 2007 a great year for the band. The show
at Sully's on December 29th was definitely our best of 2007. With more
than 250 people packed into the place, you definitely made it a great way to
close out 2007. The Party Train continues on
into 2008 and the first stop is at Kirkpatrick's in Ashburn so come on out and
lets keep the party going. Hope to see you all soon.

Hope to see you there!!!
Riko, Iceman, Jay Bird, Opie and FidgetThe Halloween Party this past Saturday night at Gene and Tina's house was a great time. The weather got a little chilly but it sure beat having the rain come down. Costumes were abundant. Food was a plenty and the cold beer was flowing out of the kegs like water going over Niagara Falls... :) Honestly with the way it was looking late Friday night, we didn't think that playing outside was going to be possible but the stars aligned for us and we couldn't have asked for a better night. Well, maybe a little heat would have helped out.. hahahaha
Everyone have a safe Halloween and we'll be seeing you soon...
Riko, Iceman, Jay Bird, Opie and FidgetOnce again, this past Saturday night at The Oasis was another GREAT TIME. The place was packed as usual and people were dancing and partying with us all night long. We really couldn't have asked for a better night. We'll be back down there again sometime soon so keep an eye on the schedule. We'll be seeing you soon...
Riko, Iceman, Jay Bird, Opie and FidgetBreaking News
Ricky Johnson is once again back in Slider!!!
After a hiatus of almost 4
years to the day, Ricky is once again at the Helm and taking control of the Lead
Vocals for Slider....The band is now 4/5 the way it was back when it all started and now with Jay
working the skins for us, we are a better band now than we were 5 years ago. As
we have sorta phrased it, "It's the 4 Horseman and Jaybird" ready to get out
there and kick some "Rock n Roll" butt.
Greg lost a great friend on July 16, 2007 due to a motorcycle accident in Wardensville, WV. Bobby was a great person and could make friends with anyone. He will be missed by all....
In Memory of a Great Friend
The Oasis was another GREAT TIME.
The place was packed and people were dancing and partying all night long.
It was a non stop party from start to finish. It all started even
before we hit the stage but we can't talk about that here. hahahaha
The PA was rippin' and the drinks were flowin' and a good time was had by ALL.
We'll be seeing you soon...
Killer Dwarf, Iceman, Jay Bird, Opie and Fidget
Fast Eddie's was a GREAT TIME. We
were kicking some serious BUTT that night. The NEW PA was thumpin' and we
were in the groove. We were rockin' so Hott that night that the Fairfax
County Fire Department showed up. haha :-) Seriously, we were crankin' too much out of the fog machine and it set off the smoke alarm.
Good thing it didn't set off the sprinklers. We just want to say THANKS to
all of you that came out and had a good time with us. We hope to see ya
soon...
Killer Dwarf, Iceman, Jay Bird, Opie and Fidget
We just want to say "Thanks" to all of you that came
out and partied with us at our inaugural Kirkpatrick's gig in Haymarket.
You guys made it a good time as usual and we WILL be back on August 18th so tell
your friends and let's "ROCK THE PUB"...
Hope to see you all at Fast Eddie's in
Fairfax on June 1st...
Killer Dwarf, Iceman, Jay Bird, Opie and Fidget
April 27th & 28th was an "ABSOLUTE" blast
at Madigan's Waterfront. We want to say "Thanks" to all of you that came
out and partied with us. We saw some familiar faces as well as
made some new friends so you ALL made it a BLAST for us.
We'll be crankin' out the "Rock n Roll" at
The Oasis
this coming Saturday, May 5th for "Cinco de Mayo" so come on out and celebrate it with
us.....
So, Don't be strangers and we're looking forward to seeing everyone
again real soon.
Killer Dwarf, Iceman, Jay Bird, Opie and Fidget
March 10th at Kirkpatrick's was a blast
for us. Thanks to all of the people that came out to see us at our first show
with the "New" lineup. It was great to see some familiar faces as well as
everyone new that was there partying with us. Plus, as always, it's fun to share
the stage with some of our of friends and band mates. That always makes it fun
for us. So, Don't be strangers and we're looking forward to seeing everyone
again real soon.
Hello everyone,
Can you believe it's 2007 already. Since our
last show in September we have been on the hunt for a new drummer and lead
vocalist to fill the shoes of JJ and John. Let us tell ya this, it was
"NOT" an easy task. It was a long hard search to find the right
people to come in and fill JJ and John's shoes but we finally did it.
Would you please welcome to the mix,
Lead Vocalist - Kasey Swecker and Drummer - Jay Alper.
Kasey had played in bands since the age of 14 and fronted his last band,
"Hung Jury" for the past 10 years. Kasey's range is going to let us continue to
play the rock n roll tunes that we did in the past plus there will be some new
ones coming at ya that we know you're gonna love too...
Jay has played drums in numerous Northern Virginia bands since moving to
the area and one of those past bands was with Randy so they already knew each other and once Jay came in,
the rhythm section was on its way to being tight from the 1st practice.
We can't wait to get out there and play some shows
for you in 2007 and we can't wait to see some old
familiar faces as well as some new ones. Tell your friends it's time to Party.
Mark it on your calendar....March 10th at Kirkpatrick's in Ashburn is the debut of the new band so come
on out and party it up with Kasey and Jay. Oh yeah, Gary, Randy and Fidget will be there too... Can't
wait to see everyone again...
Hello gang...Been awhile since we put anything up
here but we just wanted to make a note and say that this Saturday night is JJ
and John's "LAST SHOW" with the band. Come on out and lets make
it a Party!!! They are both moving on to other ventures and we wish them
the best...We have the Drummer slot filled and are very close to having the
Lead Vocalist slot filled too. We're going to miss JJ and John but come
on out and lets make their "LAST SHOW" one that they will remember.
We're going to take a little break while we get everything back up and running
so keep an eye on the website. We'll be back out there before you know it..
Hey everyone. We found out yesterday that Jon
Ballard from DC101 played out version of Shine over the airwaves.
Gary's sister gave a guy that works at 101 our Demo because she thought that we
could enter the "Last Band Standing" Contest to open the Chili Cook-off on May
20th. We later found out that the contest was for "Original Music"
bands only but our CD is still floating around the DC 101 studios.
Rumor has it that Shine is one of Ballard's favorite tunes and he liked our take
on it. We thought it was pretty cool that he played it on the air.
Maybe they will put us into their daily rotation. hahaha
We're ready to have a kickin' time at Madigan's
this coming Saturday night. Come on out and lets have a Party.
New tunes will be coming your way too so we hope to see you there.... JJ, Randy, John, Gary and Fidget
Hey everyone. Just wanted to say "Thanks"
again to everyone that comes out and supports the band. With you all there
it just makes us put on a better show for you all. Speaking of shows, we
have a bunch lined up for this Spring and early Summer. Things are really
starting to take off for us because of all of you and because of that, we're branching
out and going to be playing out in Waldorf, Md. as well as a new club out in
Winchester, Va. so get yourself ready to come out and party with the boys in the
band. Updates will be sent out to everyone that is on the e-mail list.
If you would like to be added to our list please send an e-mail to
sliderrocks@yahoo.com.
Thanks for taking "The Poll" and
letting us know what you want to hear. We're working on adding some
new stuff from the bands that you voted on ASAP. Hope to see you at the show this
Friday night at "Fast Eddie's", JJ, Randy, John, Gary and Fidget
We just want to shout out a big "THANK YOU" to all
of the "Slider Fans" that came out this weekend to see us at Sully's on
Friday night and Madigan's on Saturday night. You packed both places and
we partied until they shut us down and kicked us all out. Having you
all there makes us play better and it makes the party a blast. Thanks
again and we'll see you next time...
Go check out
the latest addition to the Slider website. Click on "The Poll" and
vote for the bands that you want Slider to cover more tunes from.
We'll listen to the results and give you what you want to hear.
The "Slider
Fans" were out and partying it up with the band at our first show of 2006 at
Fast Eddie's on January 20th. We had a blast and the crowd just kept screaming for more.
Ricky Johnson and Steve Bray from Smylin' Jack got up on stage and played a few
tunes with us too. Ricky and Steve both used to be in Slider so it was a
"Reunion" jam so to speak. It was a great way to start off 2006 and hopefully the energy and excitement
will continue throughout the year. Thanks for helping us start off 2006
the way it should be.
The Final Mix of our Demo was finished
on December 13th. Go to the Sounds page and download the tunes.
Enjoy and Spread the word !!!
The Demo is finished.
Tunes will be up on the site on Wednesday the 14th. Download them and make
yourself a CD if you want. Tell your friends about them and have them
download them too. Spread the word !!! See ya at the next show.
We're going back to the Studio
tonight to do the "Final Mix" on the Demo. We will have them up on the
site tomorrow if all goes well tonight. It's been one thing after another
it seems but we're finally going to get it finished tonight.
We hit Cue Recording Studio last
night and laid down 6 tracks for our Demo. We're going back tonight to finish
the vocals and mix it down. We'll have it on the site ASAP.
The Oasis kicked some
serious Bootie on Friday night.....We had a great time and the party was non
stop until they kicked everyone out. We had 3 birthdays going on that
night...Steve, Carmen and Sarah all celebrated with us. A good time was
had by all. If you missed it, you missed a hell of a good time.
During the show at Sully's,
Gary found out that his 2 oldest Daughters were involved in a car accident on
the Dulles Greenway. Needless to say Gary left the gig early to go home to
be with his family. Fortunately the only damage was to his daughters
emotions. Once they got themselves settled down they were ok. We're
just happy that his kids are ok because a car is replaceable, your kids are not. Also, someone decided to slam
into the back of Fidget's truck after the show. No big damage but the
bumper on his truck got pushed in on the passenger side. We're guessing
that the car that hit his truck is in worse shape than the F-150. Other
than that we had a good time. Would have loved to have seen more people
come out but it was the night before the big "Halloween Parties" so we
understand why people were not out. See ya at the next show.

We went into Cue Recording Studios to start recording our Demo but they had problems with the Pro Tools set up so nothing was even recorded last night. We have rescheduled to go back on Nov 17th & 18th and try it again. Once we get it finished we'll post it on the Web plus burn some CD's to give away at some shows.
